Experimental sculptures are hybrids that reveal a mechanical, almost machine-made appearance on the exterior, contrasting with the hand-thrown, man-made interior. To pursue this concept of amalgamation, I engineered a new material and casting technique to best exploit it. This material replicates the minute details left during the making process and allows undercut features that cannot be produced using clay or plaster.
